Make My Mark
Well-acquainted with traps on this road I travel
Seems I’ve fallen in every one
When I see where I was and where I am now
Am I any more like your Son?
I’ve said that I want to be like him
To grow up and be a man
But when push comes to shove I reject your love
For myself and my fellow man
Help me to see your vision
For all the things that I can be
Let me rely on your heart, oh God
For my friends and my family
Give me a clear mind of wisdom
And a sense of priority
Show me some things I can do without
To give others more energy
I have no great assurance
That I’ll be here all that long…
But I’d like to make my mark here
By learnin’ and lovin’ and teachin’ to others…
Your heart’s song
